DARCY S. McALISTER

DARCY S. McALISTER has been with the firm since the fall of 2002, and became a partner in 2009.  Based on Ms. McAlister’s past experience and skill set, she practices in the areas of family law, civil litigation, employment disputes and severance negotiations.  Ms. McAlister has successfully litigated matters at both the trial and appellate court level.  She is also dedicated to negotiating pragmatic and sustainable settlement solutions whenever possible.  While she continues to serve clients in employment disputes and civil litigation, but Ms. McAlister is focused on leading and expanding the firm’s family law practice, including divorce proceedings, custody disputes, prenuptial agreements and guardian-ad-litem appointments.  In addition to representing clients under the traditional model, Ms. McAlister practices collaborative divorce, an alternative dispute resolution process, and is a member of the Collaborative Divorce Attorneys of Fairfield County [www.CollaborativeDivorceCT.com]. 

A cum laude graduate of Skidmore College with a B.A. in Psychology / Sociology, Ms. McAlister also completed one year of the masters program at Boston College Graduate School of Social Work.  Thereafter, Ms. McAlister spent five years in the entertainment industry managing internationally known recording artists, including Kool & The Gang, K.C. and The Sunshine Band, and George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, where she oversaw their professional commitments and advised them on public persona matters.  Attending law school at night, Ms. McAlister graduated from Quinnipiac University of Law in 2002, where she was elected to the Quinnipiac Law Review, received graduate awards for Excellence in Clinical Work and Outstanding Academic Achievement, earned various academic awards, and was granted an externship as a Federal judicial intern for the State of Connecticut under the Honorable Holly Fitzsimmons.  

Ms. McAlister is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Second Circuit.
