WILLIAM F. FITZGERALD
William F. Fitzgerald is a partner of the firm and is the head of the Entertainment Law practice area.
Attorney Fitzgerald has had a distinguished career counseling clients in all areas of entertainment, including sports, fashion, music, film, television, and publishing. He is an experienced litigator, representing clients in matters including copyright, trademark, right of publicity, right of privacy, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary obligations. He also has experience in transactional matters, such as negotiating deals with record, publishing, fashion, film and television companies, and modeling agencies, as well as dealing with employment contracts.
In addition, Mr. Fitzgerald represents many notable international clients as U.S. counsel, including relationships with Export Music Sweden, Raw Fusion Recordings, Juggling' records and Dealers of Nordic Music AB (Sweden), in addition to other Swedish major and independent labels, recording artists, managers, modeling agencies, and entertainment lawyers.
In 2005, he represented the producers and directors of "Left of the Dial", a documentary film that captures the turmoil behind the rise and fall of Air America, the first liberal talk radio network. The film was nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award.
Attorney Fitzgerald is a member of the Bar of the states of New York and Connecticut and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Mr. Fitzgerald received his B.A. from Bethany College in 1969 and his J.D. from the City University of New York at Queens College School of Law in 1986. He previously studied at Stockhom University School of Law in Stockholm, Sweden and also studied at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs. He is fluent in Swedish.
